My name is Joycelyn Williamson, affectionately known as 'Lyn' to colleagues and patients. My journey into the field of Podiatry began at the prestigious Birmingham School of Podiatry, Matthew Boulton College. Here, I engaged deeply in my studies, fueled by a passion for podiatric medicine, and graduated in 2000 with a first-class honours degree. This milestone was the first step in a varied and fulfilling career across both the private and public healthcare sectors.
Following my graduation, I embarked on a diverse career path. Notably, I dedicated a decade to teaching at the Birmingham School of Podiatry, where I also advanced my education by earning a Masters Degree in Medical Education. This degree not only broadened my expertise but also reaffirmed my commitment to clinical and academic excellence.
In 2015, after opting for redundancy, I took a significant step by establishing Surefeet Podiatry. This move enabled me to leverage my extensive experience and passion for podiatry into founding a practice focused on delivering high-quality care and enhancing patient well-being. Between 2015 and 2019, I remained active in education and clinical training, offering my expertise part-time to aspiring podiatrists in both the private sector and through an NHS-funded Podiatry degree program. This blend of practice and teaching highlights my dedication to the advancement of Podiatry and to upholding the highest care standards for my patients.
